Did you know . . .


. . . that in October, 1940, Sir Winston Churchill ordered that a standard clothes hanger be designed as a matter of urgency? The result, The Standard, was color-coded according to service, department and rank and became the official coat hanger of the Thames Valley Police force.

How about this? The identity of its designer remains classified information under the Official Secrets Act until 2015.
